Can the DVR fully replace the car driving recorder? It is not advisable to use the DVR instead of the driving recorder to work 24 hours a day in car.
First of all, the driving recorder is known as the car black box, which can complete record things around your vehicle while driving. Some driving recorders have GPS function, which can record driving routes and support video output, loop recording, motion detection function etc and can be used together with reversing cameras, it is convenient to install and can effectively record the condition of the front of the vehicle.
The DVR is usually for in-vehicle surveillance. We often see it installed on the bus. This is to monitor the situation of thieves. The DVR can support a lot of cameras in one system, and it can monitor the situation in the bus. If the DVR installed inside the car, then personal privacy will be the primary problem;
Secondly, the DVR usually works at a temperature of 0 to 50°, and is used installed in the corner inside the vehicle, so the temperature will be reduced. The driving recorder installed in the car, and its maximum withstand temperature is at least 50° in the summer. This is something that the DVR cannot exceed;
Third, the DVR usually has two kinds of storage devices, one is the SD card, the other one is the hard disk, the SD card has good shock resistance but the storage space is small, and the maintenance cost is large! The ordinary hard disk generally supports 300g or more, and can be used continuously for one month. The driving recorder memory card is usually divided into 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, support recording video, the price is relatively cheap;
Fourth, the installation method, the DVR is usually more troublesome to install in the bus, usually the installation cost includes the on-dash monitor cost, camera cost, hard disk, materials, installation costs etc., and the driving recorder is relatively simple to install, you can do it yourself or cost a little to ask for help in a car repair shop;
Fifth, the 24-hour monitoring of the car with DVR is unrealistic. Many drivers feel that the battery of the driving recorder is not durable and wants to use the DVR, but actually power consumption of DVR far exceeds the driving recorder. If it is used for a long time in a car, then the battery capacity of our car would be exhausted, not worth the loss! And the driving recorder to achieve 24 hours of monitoring, you only need a mobile power supply.
